Ibarra is a town an hour north of Otavalo and is situated in a valley between majestic mountains and the volcano Imbabura. The impressive 'tren de la libertad' runs between Ibarra and Salinas and rides over bridges, through tunnels and has wonderful views.

You can choose to stay with local families in the community of San Clemente, or stay in one of the beautiful historic haciendas.
