There are several opportunities to visit the Ecuadorian jungle, from unspoiled national parks to tropical forests. By airplane you can visit the remote jungle areas of Cuyabeno and Yasuní, where the focus of the visit is on flora and fauna.

 

For the more adventurous, we recommend visiting the areas around Tena, where you have more exciting options such as rafting and hiking. The area around Macas is fairly undiscovered and a great option if you want to get in touch with the indigenous Shuar culture. Tena and Macas are easily accessible by private or public transport and offer a good first jungle experience, they are however less pristine than the aforementioned National Parks Yasuní and Cuyabeno.
