Tena is only four hours away from Quito. The city is located on the edge of the Amazon and in the vicinity are plenty of excursions possible. Active options are whitewater rafting, kayaking or tubing. Visit a local Quichua community, hike through the tropical forest and learn more about medicinal plants.
