The small fishing village Puerto Lopez is the perfect starting point to explore the national park "Machalilla" and behold the magnificent humpback whales. Isla de la Plata, which is also known as 'The Poor Man's Galápagos" is the highlight of the region and here you can see Blue Footed Boobies, the Great Fregatbirds and waved albatrosses. 

Puerto Lopez is also the perfect place to laze away a few days at the beach and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
