                  CETravels Sustainable Tourism Policy 2017

Sustainability:

As one of the world´s largest industries, tourism has a great responsibility in the goal of implementing sustainable practices on a global scale. Tourism offers on one hand a great opportunity for a direct economic support of the less economically developed countries. On the other hand, tourism bares strong risks of the imposition of Western values and lifestyles on the local structures of receiving countries. In this sense, we recognize the importance of supporting the positive sides global tourism has to offer while minimalizing the negative impacts it might have, following the steps below:

  • Involving local people in our business process and supporting local charity programs on a regular basis

  • Working together with eco-tourism-focused businesses and/or companies certified in sustainable tourism

  • Making positive contributions to the immediate environment

  • Offering more meaningful travel experiences for tourists in terms of getting in touch with the local inhabitants

  • Enabling cultural exchanges and hence social exchanges between the tourists and the local community with community-based tourism programs
